Kansas cannabis testing requirements
Kansas has no medical or adult-use cannabis program; cannabidiol and industrial hemp are excluded from the definition of marijuana. Claire and Lola's law gives patients with a physician's letter a defense for possessing CBD oil whose THC is no more than 5% of its CBD, verified by an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited lab. There is no licensed supply or state testing program.

ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation
Not required. There is no cannabis testing program. Claire and Lola's law does require the THC-to-CBD ratio of a qualifying CBD oil to be verified by a lab accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 with cannabinoid potency in scope (K.S.A. 65-6235).

- K.S.A. 21-5701(k): 'marijuana' excludes cannabidiol and industrial hemp grown, produced or used under the Commercial Industrial Hemp Act.
- Claire and Lola's law (K.S.A. 65-6235; defense in K.S.A. 21-5706(d)): a 'cannabidiol treatment preparation' is an oil with THC no more than 5% relative to its CBD, verified by a third-party lab that is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited for cannabinoid potency and not affiliated with the producer.
- The defense needs a debilitating medical condition and a letter from the treating Kansas physician, dated within 15 months. It is a defense to prosecution only; the law sets up no registry, licensed producers or dispensaries.
- Hemp products (K.S.A. 2-3908): hemp cigarettes, cigars, smokeless products, teas and vape liquids are banned. Hemp buds, ground flower and leaf, and extracts above 0.3% delta-9 THC may go only to registered hemp processors or Kansas Department of Agriculture licensees.
