Mississippi cannabis testing requirements
Medical only, under the 2022 Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act. The State Department of Health's Medical Cannabis Program licenses growers, processors and labs; the Department of Revenue licenses dispensaries. Every batch must pass testing by an MSDH-licensed lab before sale: potency, pesticides, metals, microbials, mycotoxins, water activity, moisture and foreign matter. Labs need ISO/IEC 17025.

ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation
Required. Labs must be accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by an ILAC MRA signatory for the state-required analytes before licensing; loss of accreditation means immediate revocation (15 Miss. Admin. Code Pt. 22, Rules 1.2.1, 3.1.3, 3.4.3-3.4.6).
Notes

- Microbials: total coliform ≤ 100 CFU/g; STEC, Salmonella and Aspergillus (fumigatus, flavus, niger, terreus) not detected in 1 g; total yeast and mold ≤ 10,000 CFU/g.
- Mycotoxins: total aflatoxins (B1, B2, G1, G2) and ochratoxin A ≤ 20 µg/kg each.
- Heavy metals: As, Cd, Pb, Hg, total Cr and Ni; Cu for vaping products only.
- Water activity ≤ 0.65 aw (edibles ≤ 0.85) and moisture ≤ 15%; non-edible infused products are exempt (Rule 5.4.5).
- Residual solvents: concentrates and infused products, unless made without the listed solvents (Rule 5.4.1.D.9). Homogeneity: infused products, ±15% of stated THC/CBD per serving.
- Potency caps: flower ≤ 30% and concentrates ≤ 60% total THC; edibles ≤ 10 mg THC per serving. Terpenes are tested only when claimed on the label.
- A 2026 bill to remove the concentrate THC cap (HB 895) was vetoed and died; the caps stand.
