ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation

Not required. Labs must show accreditation from NIDA, NELAC or ISO, or 12 months as a licensed cannabis lab in another state plus ISO accreditation (held or pending) (LAC 51:XXIX.903). The LDAF Agricultural Chemistry Laboratory is exempt (LAC 51:XXIX.905).

Notes

• Rules: LAC 51:XXIX.713 (sampling and quality standards) and Chapter 9 (approved laboratories), last amended January 2026 (LR 52:59).
• Microbials: mold/yeast < 100,000 CFU/g (raised from 10,000 in 2025); pathogenic E. coli and Salmonella < 1 CFU/g.
• Mycotoxins: aflatoxins and ochratoxins < 20 ppb each. Heavy metals: As, Cd, Pb, Hg.
• Pesticide action levels were re-based on Oregon's list (emergency rule March 2025, final January 2026); any unlisted pesticide must be non-detectable.
• Residual solvents are not required for minimally processed plant material.
• Homogeneity: aliquots within ±15% of the average THC result. Potency: within ±15% of labeled THC.
• No water-activity, moisture, terpene or foreign-matter test is named in the rule.
• Approved labs (Sept 2026): LDAF Agricultural Chemistry Laboratory, Ceres Scientific, Acre Analytical.
• An adult-use pilot bill (HB 373, 2026) stayed in House committee when the session ended.
